-The locals of Rambha have recently met and submitted a memorandum to Union Rail Minister of State Darshana Jardosh under the leadership of BJP leader Bhimasena Behera demanding stoppage of several Express Trains like Puri-Tirupathi,Puri-Ahmedabad, Prashanthi and Konark at Rambha.
Around 3 lakh people of the area depend on the rail station for daily movement and Rambha is also a historical tourist place of Ganjam.
There has been a long standing demand regarding stoppage of express trains but the Railway authorities are nonchalant.
Earlier, similar demands have been made by locals of Ganjam and Jagannathpur area for stoppage of several Express Trains at Ganjam and Jagannathpur station. Locals of Ganjam have also issued a warning of Railroko if their demands are not fulfilled.
Earlier, Hirakhanda Express and Puri-Tirupathi trains used to stop at Ganjam before Covid. But these two trains don't have any stoppage at Ganjam now.
Similarly, a train from Brahmapur to Puri has long been demanded by locals of Ganjam district which was also repeated.
