Former Chief Minister Hemanand Biswal was on Thursday admitted to the VSS Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla following a complaint of chest pain.
Biswal was rushed to the hospital in morning after he complained of angina and uneasiness. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Cardiology Department in the hospital and his condition is stated to be stable, sources said.
Biswal was returning after attending a programme at Thakurpada under Kirimira block, following which he was admitted to the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital on Wednesday night. As there was no marked improvement in his health condition, he was shifted to the Burla referral hospital.
