The Congress has opposed an eviction plan without any rehabilitation by the Indian Railways for construction of its 3rd line here.
In this regard, a delegation of the party leaders under the leadership of DCC, Rourkela president Biren Senapati submitted a memorandum for the GM, SE Railways to the ARM, Bondamunda.
The party alleged that to protect the illegal set up of moneyed men, influential politicians’ hotels, petrol pumps, car show room and the buildings of big business houses, the railway has changed its plan to right-side from Rourkela to Jharsuguda. It was asked as to why the eviction notice was given for 85 feet wide space. The party warned that unless the slum dwellers are rehabilitated under Prime Minister Awas Yojana, the eviction attempt will be opposed.
