Around 100 eunuchs on Friday walked the ramp here at the Hijra slum near Vani Vihar to celebrate the Supreme Court’s April 15 verdict recognising them as the third gender.
The eunuchs coming from different parts of the capital city under the direct supervision of the All Odisha Eunuchs’ Association wearing dresses in various styles walked the ramp, also celebrating the birthday of their chief Madhuri Kinnar.“Following the Supreme Court’s verdict recognising us as the third gender, we do not how to celebrate! We organsied the ramp show just to remember the historic occasion,” said Madhuri Kinnar.Association president Pratap Sahoo was present on the occasion.
