The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the State Crime Branch on Thursday submitted a proposal to the State Finance Department for issuance of an ad-interim attachment order for assets of chit fund company Siridi Sai Estate Pvt limited and properties seized from the company’s directors and others.
EOW sources said the attachment would be done under Sections 3 of the Odisha Protection of Interest of Depositors (in Financial Establishments) Act 2011.
The proposal includes valuable homestead land of over one acre worth around Rs 60 lakh located in Mouza Kalarahanga and Baimunda under Bhubaneswar Tehsil, a Ford Endeavour car worth Rs 16, 29,437 and a Ford Fiesta car worth Rs 7, 58,500.
On April 12, 2013, the EOW had registered a case acting on a complaint lodged by laxman Kumar Panda of Janhia under the Soro police station in Baleswar district. The complainant had alleged that company managing director Prakash Chandra Panda had duped investors of crores of rupees by floating various schemes promising hefty returns.
later on February 15 last year, the EOW had arrested Prakash from the Surya Nagar in Bhubaneswar. He is lodged in the Jharpada jail since then.
