For widening of road the joint eviction team on Monday demolished six wooden cabins, four AC sheeted structures used as business establishment, one staircase and ten boundary walls measuring 350 feet from Jharpada Special Jail to Jharpada Ganesh Mandap Square.
The joint eviction team consisting of BDA, BMC, GA and Commissionerate Police carried out the drive amid tight security.
Requisition for demolition was made by BMC Deputy Commissioner (Recovery). Two excavators of BMC and BDA were engaged for the demolition drive. BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Kumar Patro and liasioning Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty and senior police officials were present during the operation.
