The Commissionerate Police made elaborate security arrangements to ensure smooth passage of the Jagannath Sagadi which resumed its journey from Pratapnagari on Sunday evening.
At least 18 platoons of police forces were deployed for smooth movement of the Daru which would make night halt near Pandara along Bhubaneswar-Puri bypass on the outskirts of the city. “Movement of heavy vehicles will not be allowed on National Highway-5 from 7 pm onwards tomorrow for the smooth movement of the Sagadi. For this, traffic system has been slightly changed with one-way traffic arrangement by the Commissionerate police,” said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
