The Baleswar police have made elaborate traffic arrangements in view of visits of two top leaders, BJP’s Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, here on Friday.
While Modi is scheduled to address a meeting at the Permit Ground at around 9 am, Sonia would address her rally at the ITI Ground at around 3 pm.
SP Praveen Kumar said the traffic would be regulated for the meetings in order to avoid congestion.
“Two separate helipads have been made, one for Mr Modi’s chopper at Old Stadium and another for Gandhi’s chopper at Kuruda. The special security agencies, NSG and SPG are guarding the helipads,” he said.
He also informed that the parking places identified for Modi’s programme are Hemkapada and Mission Compound Ground for two-wheelers and Saha’s field for the four-wheelers. The light House field has been identified as the parking place for Sonia Gandhi’s rally.
