Gagan Behera and I Bhaskara Rao, track maintenance staff of Bacheli and Kirandul of East Coast Railway (ECoR) were felicitated for their timely action to avoid a possible mishap.
While performing their duty, Behera and Rao found the crucial check rail of the rail line misplaced on the track between Kamlur and Bhansi stations of Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh under Waltair Division before arrival of the Visakhapatnam-Kirandul passenger train on February 16.
They soon sounded an alert and saved the train. A sure mishap was avoided.
For their exemplary action and sincerity, ECoR GM Umesh Singh felicitated them with cash award. Additional General Manager Rajeev Sharma and Principal Chief Engineer Shyam Sundar were present.
