The East Coast Railway (ECoR) carried out intensive social awareness campaigns to educate road users during the observance of the International level Crossing Awareness Day (IlCAD) here on Tuesday.
The campaigns included publicity in various media like newspapers, television and radio; distribution of posters and leaflets; various short-duration films and advertisements for educating the road users about the precautions to be taken while negotiating the unmanned level-crossings.
Different safety counselling teams from the ECoR headquarters and divisional headquarters participated in the awareness drive to educate people in gram panchayats, schools and weekly markets, filling stations near National Highways and also to carry out ambush checks at unmanned level-crossings at different places.
