Junior and senior section engineer-members of the East Coast Railway Engineers’ Association (ECoREA) came back on Wednesday after joining the Aatmsamman Rally in New Delhi under the leadership of its president Sudhamaya Bajapayi and general secretary Bobin Mohanty.
Engineers from all over the country joined the rally demanding recognition to the All India Railway Engineers’ Association (AIREF), Group-B status to all engineers, Grade pay 4,800 to JEs and 5,400 (PB-3) to SSEs with standard designation Assistant Engineers to SSE, appointment of a prominent technocart and a retired/serving senior railway personnel as members of the 7th Central Pay Commission, etc.
Several Members of Parliament supported the demands while addressing the rally, said Bobin Mohanty.
