ECoR-customers meet on freight service pacts

PNS

The Indian Railways have issued a new policy called “long Term Tariff Contract” (lTTC) to provide stability and certainty in the logistic operations both for the Railways and its freight customers.

Under the scheme, the customers would enter into a long-term contract with the Railways offering assured traffic to the Railways, and, in turn, they would get assurance of certainty in supply of rakes and tariff rates as well as freight rebate.

In view of this, a meeting was organised by the East Coast Railway on Monday at the Rail Sadan here with representatives of ports, industries and other customers, presided over by ECoR General Manager Umesh Singh.

The ECoR would offer the industries dedicated wagons during the peak season with an objective to provide stability and certainty in the logistics sector. The various industries spelt out their annual plans for year 2017-18 and made various commitments regarding production and rail despatches.

ECoR Additional General Manager Rajiv Sharma, Chief Commercial Manager BP Swain and other senior officers were present.
