ECI urged to shift J'suguda, D'nal DMs

PNS

A large number of voters of Jharsuguda and Dhenkanal districts have appealed to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to shift their respective district Collectors soon as per the poll code of conduct.

In their complaint, some Jharsuguda people have informed the ECI that district Collector Guha Punam Tapas Kumar enjoys status of being daughter-in-law of the district and hence doesn’t deserve to hold the post as per the poll code conduct. “Kumar is the wife of IPS Satryajit Nayak of Batalahida village under the Jharsugda constituency. She has also got Voter ID card in her name in the in-laws’ address,” the complaint missive mentioned.

Similarly, some people of Dhenkanal district have made a complaint that district Collector Rupa Roshan Sahu’s in-laws’ house is in Kamakshyanagar under the district and hence she should be shifted soon.

Apprehending that Kumar and Sahu can’t function impartially as they belong to the districts they head, the complainants have urged the ECI to shift them for smooth conduct of polls in their respective districts.
