Hundreds of villagers, including women, on Saturday ghearoed the district Superintendent of Police office here demanding immediate arrest of culprits involved in a dowry torture case.
According to sources, a dowry torture case has been filed at the Jagatsinghpur PS against two persons Jakhir and Tahir Hussun, residents of Samanga village, six km from here. The villagers alleged that the police arrested the two accused persons but are not keen on arresting the other kith and kin of the accused persons who were allegedly involved in the case. The district Superintendent of Police discussed with the agitated villagers and assured that needful action would be taken against the culprits.
