The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday took the three accused arrested for murdering the doctor couple at Sailashree Vihar here on a two-day remand.
The police had on Monday prayed the Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court to take the accused, Nini, maid of the murdered doctor couple Dr Prafulla Mishra and Dr Susama Mishra, her husband Muna and Kishore Behere on a three-day remand. But the court allowed the investigators to take the accused on a two-day remand.
The investigators are still clueless about the whereabouts of two other accused Tikina Behera and her husband Jawan Naik, who masterminded the murder.
Three police teams have been stationed in southern districts of the State to trace Tikina and Jawan as it is suspected that the duo has fled to Andhra Pradesh after the incident.
Investigators hope that the custodial interrogation of the arrested would provide crucial information about the absconding duo.
Police revealed that five persons were directly involved in the ghastly crime, and loot was the prime motive behind the murder.
