Hundreds of labourers under the banner of Dhenkanal Silpasamuha Khyatigrastha Shramik Sangha and Anti Corruption Committee gheraoed Dhenkanal DlO alleging rampant corruption and favourtism to company owners.
They submitted a memorandum in this context to the Chief Minister through the Commissioner for Employees Compensation-cum-Assistant labour Commissioner laxmidhar Rath. They were led by farmers’ and workers’ leader Debashisha Hota.
Hota alleged that DlO’s undue favour to different companies has resulted in partisan use of his office. The DlO also misbehaves with labour leaders. Recently, he had misbehaved with Hota while a meeting was underway to resolve issue of illegal retrenchment of two security guards by a mall owner.
The labour leaders demanded immediate termination of the DlO.
