DM revokes suspension orders of 11 clerks

PNS

The district Collector on Tuesday withdrew his orders for suspension of 11 clerks and transferred them to various blocks of the district.

Sources said that after the District Clerical Association decided embark on a State-wide agitation, the Collector called the irate employees for discussions.

It might be mentioned here that the Collector had earlier suspended a Junior Clerk in the case of granting permission to Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to land his helicopter at Borigumma in the district on February 13.

The District Clerical Association requested the Collector to withdraw the suspension orders. But when he didn’t oblige, the association went on a strike.

However, the Collector on Sunday had suspended five Clerks and on Monday again put under suspension five clerks for taking part in the agitation. He also transferred the association’s president and secretary reportedly to sabotage the agitation.

Instead of backing out, the association members decided to intensify their stir and extend it throughout the State.
