The Bhubaneswar RTO-II officials on Wednesday imposed a penalty of Rs 52,277 on the owner of a DJ van on charges of violating multiple rules under the amended Motor Vehicle Act.
The officials fined DJ van owner Laxmidhar Nayak, a resident of Balipatana in Khordha district for running the vehicle without fitness certificate, PUC certificate, permit, insurance documents and Motor Vehicle tax documents.
As per reports, Rs 5,000 fine was imposed for running the vehicle without registration document and fitness certificate, Rs 10,000 for violating air and noise pollution, Rs 10,000 for plying without permit, Rs 2,000 for not having insurance and Odisha Motor Vehicle Tax for the period from July 1, 2018 to March 31, 2020. Also the truck owner was fined Rs 500 for general offence.
