The Campaign For Survival and Dignity (CSD) urged the State Government for discussion of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) implementation in the three-day Collectors' meet which began on June 11 here.
It said that the decisions taken in the last FRA State level Monitoring Committee (SlMC) in the presence of the SC/ST Development Minister while reviewing FRA implementation in the State bypassed the most important rights i.e. “Recognition of Community Forest Rights over Forest” recognized under FRA in the review process, non-recognition of OTFDs individual rights, ownership over MFPs and habitat rights of PVTGs etc.
It urged the Government to focus on these issues with priority in the Collectors’ meeting.
