All India Congress Committee (AICC) OBC Department chairman Kanhu Charan lenka on Monday alleged that the State Government has failed to ensure proper relief and rehabilitation to the Phailin and flood victims of 13 districts of the State.
He also blamed the Government for its proposed October 29 seminar on ‘Youth and disaster management’ on the occasion of the Odisha Disaster Preparedness Day and the National Day for Disaster Reduction-2013. “The seminar is nothing but to divert the mindset of the people from the Government’s failure in meeting the calamity situation. The Chief Minister and the Revenue and Disaster Management Minister have floated a novel idea by organising the debate in order to cover up the loopholes.
Can the State Government say how many vehicles were used for evacuation of the lakhs of affected people as claimed by the Revenue Minister and how many kitchens were started along with shelters for the affected people,” asked lenka in a Press release.
