Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Dilip Ray once again has drawn the attention of the Prime Minister for conferment of Bharat Ratna upon legendary leader late Biju Patnaik.
Ray met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his office on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum regarding Bharat Ratna to Bijubabu. Keeping the resolution of Odisha legislative Assembly and sentiment of the people of Odisha irrespective of party affiliation, Ray urged Modi to take a positive decision regarding conferment of the award during the Birth Centenary Year of Patnaik.
During discussion with the Prime Minister, Ray also reminded him about his promise for upgrading the Ispat General Hospital, Rourkela to a medical college and construction of new bridge over the Brahmani river. He has also discussed about political situation and certain other problems of the State.
Modi is said to have given an assurance in this regard to Ray.
