The Soro police on Thursday arrested one Babuna Samal (25) of Joranda in Dhenkanal district on the charge of raping a 32-year-old speech and hearing-impaired woman of Raipur under the Soro NAC in Baleswar district. The girl is pregnant for five months now.
Though initially agreed, Babuna later denied tying the knot with the victim after the case was made public. He on the other hand advised the victim’s parents to terminate the pregnancy.
With no option left, victim’s father Mahesh Das lodged a complaint with the police against Bubuna, a tractor driver. The accused would be forwarded to court after completion of medical tests,” informed Soro PS IIC Raisan Murmu.
