An official notification was released on Friday for the by-election to the Dhamnagar Assembly constituency in Bhadrak district.
As per the notification by the office of Sub-Collector, Bhadrak, the last date for filing of nomination papers is October 14 (Friday). The candidates can withdraw their candidature on October 17 (Monday).
The bye-oll will be held on November 3 (Thursday). The counting of votes will take place on November 6 (Sunday).
The seat of Dhamnagar is lying vacant since September 19 following the demise of BJP MLA Bishnu Charan Sethi, who passed away while undergoing treatment at the AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
None of the State’s three major political parties, BJD, BJP and Congress, has yet announced its candidate for the by-poll.
