DGP Dr RP Sharma on Monday directed the Range DIG to initiate a probe and submit a report in connection with the alleged assault on a private cable operator by Nabarangpur District Superintendent of Police Vivekananada Sharma.
Earlier, Congress leader and former MP Pradip Majhi had accused the SP of thrashing and harassing a youth of the district and demanded his suspension in connection with the matter.
Majhi also demanded action against Nabarangpur IIC, who is also allegedly involved in the incident.
