PNS

Several parts of the State are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours as the depression over the Gangetic West Bengal intensified into a deep depression on Monday.

The latest bulletin of the Regional Office of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) here said the deep depression was likely to move slowly west-northwestwards initially during the next 24 hours and subsequently it was likely to move northwards.

Under its impact, several parts of Odisha would experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours, said the weather office.

Winds with speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph would prevail along and off the Odisha coast during the next 24 hours. As the sea condition would be very rough, fishermen were warned not to venture into sea.
