The Boden police in Nupada district arrested an Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer working as the Tileibani block development officer for allegedly siphoning off funds amounting `47 lakh under the pension scheme meant for senior citizens and destitute people.
A team of Boden police nabbed Dharanidhar Nayak for on charges of embezzling `47 lakh meant for ‘Madhu Babu Pension Yojana.’
While Nayak was posted as Boden block BDO in Nuapada district, it was alleged that he had misappropriated funds to be distributed to the beneficiaries under the scheme.
Based on a complaint registered at the Boden police station in 2014, the cops arrested Nayak from Deogarh and forwarded him to court.
