Protesting the demolition of several religious institutions like Hindu mutts and temples, the Sanskruti Suraksha Manch organised a procession to the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) office, South Division and staged a dharna on Friday.
The Manch consisting of RSS, BJP, VHP, Brajrang Dal and ABVP submitted a memorandum addressed to the State Governor demanding protection of the old Hindu culture.
The leaders deplored the attempt made by some politicians to mislead the public about the saints, seers and Hindu organisations, including mutts, temples and ashrams. Demolition of religious institutions not only hurts the sentiments of thousands of saints and seers but also affects the spiritual and religious sentiments of crores of Hindus, they stated.
Among others, BJP leader Rama Chandra Panda, Prof Ramesh C Tripathy, district BJP president Bijay Kumar Swain, Rama Panigrahi, Gopinath Panda, Sunil Kumar Sahu, Prabhat Kumar Sadangi, Sameer Panda, Dr Bhavani Shankar Das and Padmaloachan Das participated in the dharna.
