Thousands of protestors, including men and women, under the banner of the Bahujana Milita Manch gathered at the Bargarh Lok Mandap Padia on Friday demanding swift action by the district police in bringing to book all the accused in a gang-rape case in Gaisilet police station limits. They took out a rally from there to the SP office and a delegation of the protestors met SP Rahul Jain and handed him over a memorandum. Later, they staged a protest before the district Collector’s office.The gangrape followed by arson took place in August and of the 12 accused in the case, seven have been arrested so far. The rest five are absconding. Earlier, Odisha Bhim Army also staged a protest in this regard and threatened to give a call for Odisha Bandh soon.
