Demands classroom teaching without delay

The All India Students' Union (AISF) has urged the Government to start classroom teaching as nothing can replace this method of education and demanded to stop online teaching through YouTube.

A demonstration was held at Master Canteen Square here where students from various colleges and schools protested against the YouTube teaching.

“Nearly 70% of students in the State are deprived of their education due to the YouTube teaching since June 21 as they don’t have laptops or smart phones,” said AISF State president Sanghamitra Jena.

She said that as a large section of students belong to poor, backward communities, they cannot avail smart phone, tablet or laptop and access internet. The AISF alleged that the Government itself is solely responsible in creating this digital divide. “While you are allowing a marriage function with 25-50 people, why would you not allow students to sit in classrooms with strict Covid guidelines? The Government should provide free laptops, tablets and smart phones to all students,” demanded the organsiation.
