Balangir SP Madkar Sandeep Sampat suspended the ASI Jagdish Mahananda.
Reports said that one Ashish Sahu of Saintala had on September 12 gone to the police station for lodging a complaint over a matter of dispute. Before registering the case, the ASI asked Sahu to bring eggs for him.
A few days ago, some officials had telephoned Sahu under the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative of the State Government, during which he revealed the incident. Later, a senior police official was directed to probe into the matter.
