The Election Commission of India (ECI) has set December 31 as the deadline for completion of the seeding of Aadhaar details with voter ID cards in Odisha.
State Chief Electoral Officer DN Gupta informed this to the media after a meeting with Chief Secretary GC Pati.
Gupta said, "As of now, seeding of 87 lakh consumers has been done and we aim to complete the process of the remaining 2.09 crore consumers by the end of this December."
The official said the voters can seed their Aadhaar number with their electoral photo identity card (EPIC) data online through national voters' services portal (www.nvsp.in) or by filling up a form dedicated for the said service.
Notably, the Aadhaar-EPIC linking project will enable de-duplication of electors database by weeding out the fraudulent (duplicate, bogus, ineligible and shifted) EPIC card holders.
