PNS

The allegation made by one Saroj Kanta Malik, the brother of a Dalit minor girl that his sister was allegedly gangraped on December 8 evening by three persons, including a couple of juveniles, at Danarmunda village under Marshaghai police station is purely false, informed Kendrapada SP Rabi Narayan Behera here on Sunday.

Behera informed that the Marshaghai police have recorded the statement of the victim girl at the SCB Medical College and Hospital on Sunday and found that she was raped by one Manoj Malik alias Tulu, son of Sudarshan Mallick of the same village. The crime took place when the girl on December 8 evening was returning from nearby Govari river after washing her clothes.

The victim girl’s brother had lodged an FIR at the Marshaghai police station on December 13, five days after the rape, against three youths. He described that the girl was forcibly taken by the trio to a lonely place and gang raped one after another. As a result, she became sick and admitted at the District Headquarters Hospital and later, was referred to the SCB, said the SP said.

As per the inquiry, it has been found that the girl became sick as her parents beat her. Meanwhile, Marshaghai police have arrested accused Manoj Mallick on Saturday night last. The accused has been booked under 376(d), 323,354(c ), 506  IPC and 4 of Protection from Sexual offence Act-2012.The accused was sent for medical examination on Monday before being forwarded to court, added Behera.
