The State registered 204 new Covid-19 positive cases on Friday in 17 districts and the State pool. With this, the total tally increased to 12,89,961.
Among the newly-infected were 18 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Notably, the State had recorded 155 Covid cases on Thursday.
Out of the new cases, 119 were from quarantine and 85 local contacts. Khordha reported the highest 86 new cases followed by Cuttack with 38, Sundargarh 18, Baleswar and Bhadrak eight each, Mayurbhanj five, Bhadrak and Deogarh three each, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada two each and Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Nayagarh one each. Besides, 22 cases were reported from the State pool.
With the new infections, the number of active cases in the State jumped to 872. So far, 12,79,910 patients have recovered and 9,126 have succumbed to the virus.
