In a daring dacoity, armed miscreants looted gold ornaments and other valuables from the house of a garments trader at Basanti Nagar under the Udit Nagar police station in the city on Saturday.
Sources said taking advantage of the absence of the house owner Naresh Sinha, robbers armed with weapons barged into the house of Sinha and after overpowering his family members decamped with the valuables.
Sinha’s daughter said, “Nearly five to six masked men entered our house at evening and robbed the house after putting me and my mother at gun point. They had threatened us to kill if we try to inform police.”
Investigation into the case is on, and the miscreants would be nabbed soon, said Udit Nagar police station IIC S K Das.
