The Commissionerate police late on Saturday night foiled a dacoity bid at CDA Sector-6 here and arrested three criminals.
According to reports, the criminals broke into the office of a private gold financing company Muthoot Finance at CDA Sector-6 under the Markat Nagar police limits.
However, a PCR van patrolling in the area detected the suspicious activity at around 2 am. The cops managed to nab three of the gang members.
“Some dacoits attempted to enter into the finance company office. We are investigating into the matter,” Cuttack DCP Sanjiv Arora said.
While three criminals were apprehended, police suspected two to three more persons might have managed to flee the spot. Firearms and bullets were seized from the possession of the arrested.
