Ad Hoc Additional Sessions Judge (Fast Track Court) Tribikram Keshari Chinnar has been a victim of cyber loot following a person, impersonating himself as a customer care executive of the ICICI Bank, managed to withdraw more than Rs 9,000 from his bank account in two phases.
The matter came to the fore recently after Chinnar lodged a complaint in this regard with police.
Kendrapada Sadar police station IIC Pabitra Moharana said Chinnar has an account in the ICICI Bank at Bhubaneswar’s Kharavel Nagar branch. On July 19, he came across a sum of Rs 1,062 auto-debited from his account.
A caller, identifying himself as a customer care executive, managed to get the information from the judge about the problem. He asked the judge to download an application from mobile play store and guided to instal it in his mobile. He told to follow his instructions, but meanwhile, a sum of Rs 9,090 and Rs 210 in two phases had been deducted from his account.
