The Vigilance police on Monday conducted searches on the properties of PiyushKantaPani, Additional Commissioner, Commercial Tax and GST, Cuttack-I, on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Four multi-storied buildings, seven plots worth Rs 1.87 crore in the prime areas of Bhubaneswar, six costly four-wheelers, a farmhouse worth Rs 38 lakh in Andharua in Bhubaneswar, his assets in his native Jajpur Road, bank and insurance deposits worth Rs 53. 68 lakh, 839 grams of gold and household articles worth Rs 12.30 lakh have been unearthed so far.
Further searches were continuing. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase.
