Critically-ill man refused entry into home by kin

MAlAY RAY

A poor  man of Bonei subdivision of Sundargarh district, who had been earning his livelihood in Deogarh for last 30 years, was disowned by his sons and brothers recently while he was taken in critical condition to his village and the critically ill man again had to return to Deogarh where he breathed his last.

Even if he had been tested negative of Covid-19, sons of the poor man reportedly scared of Corona transmission did not come near him and even after his death, the family members from his village did not come to see him.

Premananda  Sahu(60) got bed ridden after suffering from kidney disease and heart attack.  Premananda’s wife Santilata with the help of Khireswar and few locals, had taken Premananda to the VIMSAR, Burla.

After getting treatment in Burla hospital, Premananda had come to his house at Deogarh but his health condition was not good.  Since Premananda had desired to spend his last time in his native place in Bonei, kind hearted Khireswar hired a vehicle and took him to his village in Bonei sub division but the brothers and sons of Premananda straightway refused to accept Premananda and even did come near to Premananda.

Finding no other alternative, Khireswar brought back ill Premananda to his home at Deogarh. On July 24, Premananda passed away.

After  death of Premananda, when Khireswar rang to his sons for last rites, they told that they would not come. Later the body was cremated with the help of locals.
