PNS

Convinced that the Andhra Bank credit card division, Bhubaneswar is not taking any step on his complaint that unidentified miscreants cloned and splurged nearly Rs 77,000 on online shopping abroad, Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Janardan Pati has lodged a FIR against the bank authorities. Pati has served legal notices to the bank.

Pati had obtained a VISA gold credit card from Andhra Bank. On July 1 last,  opening balance was Rs 10,596.55 and there was no transaction between July 1 and August 1 as per the bank record statement.

On July 3, miscreants purchased goods worth Rs 44,000 through the credit card of Pati at USA, UK, and France between 1 am to 4 am though the card was in the possession of Pati. “After getting the mobile alert about the deduction, I immediately informed the bank headquarters at Hyderabad and on the same day got the card deactivated.

But, on July 5,  miscreants too purchased goods worth thousands of rupees in the card number,” said Pati, who suspected the role of bank staffbehind the misuse of credit card. The bank has charged Rs 20,000 as fine for the loss of the card.
