The Covid-19 positive cases continued to witness an upward trend in the State on Tuesday with 113 new infections being reported from six districts and the State pool. With this, the total tally increased to 12,89,441
Among the newly-infected were 15 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Notably, the State had recorded 69 Covid cases on Monday.
Out of the new cases, 67 were from quarantine and 46 local contacts.
Khordha district reported the day’s highest 65 cases followed by Cuttack with 21, Sundargarh six, Sambalpur four, Jajpur two and Puri one.
Besides, 14 cases were registered in the State pool.
The number of active case stood at 517,
So far, 12,79,745 patients have recovered from the disease and 9,126 have succumbed to it,
However, Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra said, "The infections are rising, but the situation is not alarming. The Covid transmission is high in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack."
