The Sundargarh district administration has decided on Wednesday to monitor treatment of Covid positive patients, who are advised home quarantine, by visiting door to door. The Covid positive patients will be given necessary medicines by health teams to ensure that they are not moving outside their home.
The Covid positive cases are on the rise everyday in Sundargarh district and heavy rushes are being witnessed at different testing centers. The hospitals, where preliminary check up of the Covid positive patients are taking place, are getting over crowded, which is causing serious problems for the administration.
The administration therefore has decided on Wednesday to provide necessary guidance and also provide necessary medicines to the Covid positive patients at their doorstep.
"Different health teams have been formed by us, which will visit the Covid positive patients at their respective houses and will provide all necessary support, so that they will not have to come out of their home," said Collector Nikhil Pawan Kalyan.
The Sundargarh Collector also informed that the State Government will run the Super Speciality Hospital at the Ispat General Hospital, Rourkela, as Covid Hospital. "Necessary doctors and staffs will be appointed by State Government for smooth functioning of the Covid hospital at Super Speciality Hospital, Rourkela," Kalyan said.
Significantly, the Super Speciality Hospital, which is a 200 bedded hospital, will have about 47 ICU beds.
