Covid norms flouted in JSW K’jhar event

PNS

When the whole world is fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik are interacting with people on social distancing and use of masks at regular intervals, all their efforts seem to have no effect on the JSW, which is said to be the largest steelmaker of the country. This has come to light on Sunday when company MD Sajan Jindal performed a Bhumi Puja for Nuagaon iron mines in Sundargarh district located on the border of Keonjhar without wearing facemask and maintaining social distancing. JSPL MD Naveen Jindal and others were present.

Interestingly, JSW officials claimed that the company has got the direct support from PM Modi and, thus, no Government officials would dare to take legal action against the giant personalities.

It may be noted that Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and PCC president Niranjan Patnaik had paid fines for violating the Covid norms recently. It is being discussed in the public now that when the JSW head doesn't care to obey the Covid rules, will his subordinates follow the suit? The direction violation of Covid guidelines may be one of the examples of they follow forest, environmental  and factory laws that are directly affecting the day to day life of people engaged in mining activities.
