The Puri Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court on Saturday allowed the Puri Government Railway Police (GRP) to conduct polygraph test of Ramchandran Subhash (27), the prime accused in train burning mishap at the Puri railway station.

On Friday, Ramchandran was brought on a six-day remand by the investigating agency. Earlier on Saturday morning, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel from Mugalsarai, Gaya and West Bengal interrogated Ramchandran for hours here.

He has been arrested in connection with the fire mishap in three express trains at the Puri railway station on November 12.

The polygraph test on the accused was sought following suspicion that he, a native of Tamil Nadu, could be linked to some terrorist outfits.

He had reportedly told the investigating agency that his friend Uttam had invited him to Kolkata to celebrate Diwali and there he was introduced to four to five suspicious-looking people speaking Bengali.
