The Saheed Nagar police on Thursday arrested and forwarded ward-14 corporator Ganesh Nayak of Patharbandha to court against whom Anganwadi workers have filed a complaint alleging that he misbehaved with them during a meeting on November 30.
He was booked under Sections 341, 323, 294, 448 and 354 of the IPC.
The Anganwadi workers have alleged that while they along with some beneficiaries of the Mamata scheme were discussing about fruitful implementation of the scheme at an Anganwadi Centre at Patharbandh, Nayak entered the room and used abusive language and even kicked a worker demanding to know why he was not called to the meeting.
The Anganwadi workers filed the complaint at the police station on
November 30.
“After due inquiry, we arrested him (Nayak) and forwarded him to court,” said a police officer.
