Police seized a Toyota car (OD 02S-6180) in front of the Trimurti Jewellery here loaded with ganja of about one quintal. The police began investigation into the incident to ascertain who was behind the racket of planning to transport the contraband outside the State.Another car (OD-02AA+399ll) was fleeing from the spot, and a police team headed by the DSP and the police station IIC searched for it and finally seized it.
Police detained one Prasant Senapati in connection with the case. Kandhamal district has become a paradise of ganja trade. Many people are involved in the business and they have set up hotels, dress stores and jewellery shops to make the illegally-earned money white. A high-level inquiry is needed to unravel the racket, feel many people here.
