Tension prevailed at the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central) office in Cuttack as agitating Congress workers tried to enter the office by breaking the police barricade on Tuesday.
A scuffle erupted between police personnel and agitating Congress workers when the latter resorted to stone pelting at police personnel.
“Four to five persons have been injured from our side. They tried to enter into the RDC office premises. As we resist, they pelted stones at us,” said the Cuttack Additional DCP.
The Congress workers staged the agitation demanding jobs for the unemployed youths. More than a thousand of Congress workers gathered and protested the State Government’s failure in providing employments for youths.
While the police resisted them from entering the office premises, the protestors reportedly resorted to stone pelting.
“We have not indulged in violence. The administration is responsible what happened in Cuttack,” said Congress leader Md Moquim.
No arrest had been made.
