Assistant Registrar of Sonepur Cooperative Societies Ashish Kumar Rout was on Tuesday caught red-handed by Vigilance sleuths while he was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 17,000. Acting on a complaint lodged by one Manjaya Dharua of Dunguripali in district, a team of Vigilance officials laid a trap and nabbed Rout in his office.As per complaint, he had demanded bribe in order to process a paddy procurement bill in favour of complainant. Further inquiry was underway in this connection, Vigilance sources said.
