The youth association of Parlkehmundi demanded immediate action for pollution control and submitted a memorandum in this regard to the district Collector under the leadership of former councilor G Venkat.
The locals alleged that the worst offenders are the vehicles running on kerosene. In many places, including Sidhamadanga, Anakinndaguda and Tamunia, there are more than 50 new crushers units which have been operating by violating law and emitting too much dust. Apart from that many hotels and restaurants also are creating heavy pollution. The association demanded immediate intervention of the State Government to stop pollution in the locality.
