People residing under the Cesu jurisdiction had a harrowing time on Tuesday as the distribution company resorted to power cuts for six and a half hours in just two phases, and that too happened for a misunderstanding between the company and the Gridco.
While Cesu CGM PK Padhi said the Gridco had directed the company to go for a 20 per cent power-cut due to shortage of power, Gridco PK Pradhan said the Cesu misunderstood the order. “It (Cesu) had been asked to go for a 20 per cent power cut in phases. While each phase should not be more than 30 minutes, Cesu did it in two phases only. It all happened due to misunderstanding,” he said.
Pradhan further informed that a meeting would be held in second or third week of the current month to decide on power cuts in May and June. “We will manage power cuts very well,” he said.
