Conspiracy to remove me from party: Panda

PNS

Amidst speculations that Kendrapada BJD MP Baijayant Panda will be eased out of the ruling party if he continues with his veiled attack on party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik by gunning at an IAS officer at the Third Floor (CM’s Office) in the State Secretariat, Panda on Sunday alleged that there is a conspiracy on to remove him from the party.

Panda, as usual, took to his Tweet saying, “There is a profound conspiracy against me to remove from the party.” He added, “I have no intention to leave the party.”

Interestingly, Panda made the statement in response to a Twit by one Binay Mallick to Naveen Patnaik in favour  of the MP.

Reacting to Panda’s statement, BJD spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Pratap Keshari Deb wondered why the MP does not meet the party supremo and only resorts to Twits to place his views. “Who would answer to him if he posts his statements in the social media,” Deb further remarked.

Now, a day after BJD Kendrapada district observer Pramilla Mallick had submitted her probe report regarding the allegations against Panda to Naveen Patnaik, Planning and Convergence Minister and BJD Cuttack district observer Usha Devi on Sunday began her investigations into the allegations against the MP.

Notably, the Kendrapada lok Sabha constituency covers some areas in Cuttack district.

Usha Devi visited Mahanga, Salepur and Nichintakoili in Cuttack district and spoke to party leaders and workers.

After her return here, she said she would submit her report to the party supremo on Monday after the latter returns from Pune.

Earlier, party leaders and workers from Nichintakoili, Mahanga and Salepur had met the Chief Minister and accused the MP of neglecting the party’s interests. Besides, they alleged that Panda is not consulting them while implementing various projects and misusing his MPlAD funds. However, the MP’s office had refuted the allegations.

The inquiry reports are understood to have gone against Panda’s way of functioning as the MP.
